Daily pendency reports, weekly review of complaints: Gurgaon civic body takes steps to improve grievance redressal
Gurgaon Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya warned officials that neglect or unnecessary delays in addressing citizens’ complaints would not be tolerated.

Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya Saturday issued strict instructions to officials for prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints that are received through grievance redressal camps and public interaction programmes.
During a virtual review meeting, Dahiya directed officials to address the complaints with urgency. He emphasised that joint commissioners and executive engineers must focus on resolving old, pending, and reopened complaints, an MCG spokesperson said.
Dahiya warned officials that neglect or unnecessary delays in addressing grievances would not be tolerated. “The commissioner mandated that all officers submit a pendency report to him by 11 am daily. He will personally review complaints every Wednesday to ensure transparency and accountability in the resolution process,” the spokesperson said.
Additionally, all executive engineers have been directed to be physically present at the weekly review meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Fridays to ensure effective monitoring of on-ground operations. “We are committed to providing Gurgaon residents with a responsive and efficient urban administration. Feedback from grievance camps and public programmes will now be acted upon promptly,” the spokesperson stated.
Earlier this month, the MCG started sending notices pertaining to 17,373 illegal water connections across the city, directing affected households to pay outstanding dues and obtain legal metered water connections within 15 days.
Authorised meter readers are distributing notices and obtaining written acknowledgments to ensure a transparent and authentic process.
In June, the Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) had directed the MCG to disconnect illegal and direct connections made on GMDA and MCG master water supply pipelines.
MCG officials had at the time noted that direct water connections were currently found in the Amanpura area, where the main line is meant to be a feeder for the Dayanand Colony boosting station, impacting water pressure for the whole network. Similar direct lines exist in F and H blocks at Palam Vihar and Sectors 12B, 21, 22, and 23, officials had said at the time.
