Crossing road,two labourers crushed by truck

Two labourers,including a woman,died when a speeding truck rammed their trolley on Sunday morning. The incident was reported from the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road in Arjungarh around 4.30 am .

Two labourers,including a woman,died when a speeding truck rammed their trolley on Sunday morning. The incident was reported from the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) Road in Arjungarh around 4.30 am .

The deceased have been identified as Sita,30,and Kailash,40.

According to the police,Sita was sitting on the trolley,while Kailash was pulling it when the truck crashed into them. They were trying to cross the road.

“The deceased were going to a construction site in Arjungarh area. The trolley was loaded with dug up soil,” a senior police officer said.

While Kailash died on the spot,Sita succumbed to injuries during treatment at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered at the Fatehpur Beri police station against the driver of the truck.

According to the police,the truck driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind after the accident. The truck,which was going towards Gurgaon,has been confiscated and a hunt to nab the accused has been launched.

The police said Sita belongs to Rajasthan and Kailash was from Madhopur in Jharkhand.
