Hours after an FIR was registered against two unidentified men on rape charges following a complaint by a 24-year-old woman, police said she withdrew her complaint on Saturday evening. According to police, the woman alleged that she had been kidnapped from Noida’s Golf Course Metro station in an SUV and raped by the two men before being dropped at Akshardham Temple in Delhi.

“An FIR was registered at 2.50 am under IPC Section 376D at Sector 39 police station in Noida. The woman was then rushed to the hospital for a medical examination. The complainant, however, declined to get herself examined and went home. On Saturday evening, she withdrew her complaint. However, we are still investigating the case and her statement will be recorded in front of a magistrate. Action will be taken based on the probe,” Abhinandan, Circle Officer (1st), Gautam Buddha Nagar, said.

As per her initial statement, the woman said she was waiting to hail an autorickshaw from Golf Course Metro station to go to Noida Sector 36 around 6.15 pm on Friday, when the two men in a Scorpio asked for directions to Noida Sector 18.

While the woman was explaining the route, she alleged, she was dragged inside the vehicle and raped by the two men. Around 2 am on Saturday, the woman alleged, she was thrown out of the vehicle near Akshardham temple in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area.

The woman called police and a PCR van rushed to the spot. DCP (east) Omvir Singh told The Indian Express, “She told the policemen that she was picked up from Noida and dumped there. Her statement was recorded and we sent her to the police station concerned in Noida.”
