New Delhi: Police arrested a 24-year-old man on Tuesday for allegedly stealing his employer’s money to undergo a sex-change operation. Officials recovered the stolen Rs 65,000 from his possession.

Anas Khan was arrested from Baljeet Nagar in West Delhi for allegedly stealing Rs two lakh from his employer. The incident came to light after Khan’s employer,Virender Mohan,who owns a chemical manufacturing unit in Rohini,informed police about the theft.

“Khan always wanted to be a woman but did not have the money for a sex-change surgery. When Mohan gave him Rs two lakh to hand over to a business associate in Karol Bagh,he decided to run away with the money. He told us that he stole the money to get a silicon breast implant and wanted to surgically undergo a sex change,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West),V Renganathan.

After the theft on September 6,police said Khan deposited Rs one lakh with a private clinic in East Patel Nagar for the surgery.

Following the complaint,police searched different places in Delhi and also mounted technical surveillance. Finally,police received specific whereabouts of Khan and arrested him.
