City briefs : Three snatchers arrested

New Delhi:Three bike-borne snatchers were arrested after two policemen chased and nabbed them in Keshavpur Mandi area of Vikaspuri,West Delhi. Tariq,Tushar and Sonu had snatched a wallet,mobile phone and gold chain from a chef employed with a five-star hotel. The victim,Jitender Prakash Sharma,alerted police saying he was robbed at knifepoint. “Right after a PCR call was flashed,two of our officials saw a speeding motorcycle with three boys. They followed the motorcycle and forced them to stop. The gold chain and a knife was recovered from their possession,” said a police official.

40-year-old woman ends life in Noida

Noida:A 40-year-old woman committed suicide in Noida’s Sector-37 on Monday morning,the police said. Randhana Sharma’s husband a colonel in the Army,and currently posted in Bhopal. Police said Sharma had been suffering from depression.
