The Delhi High Court has stayed an order by the Central Information Commission directing the Delhi government to make public the admission criteria for children of economically weaker sections followed by the private schools in the last three years.

The Delhi High Court has stayed an order by the Central Information Commission (CIC) directing the Delhi government to make public the admission criteria for children of economically weaker sections followed by the private schools in the last three years. The court also stayed the CIC order to put on the government website the details about the annual returns placed on record by the schools. The stay till April 7 came on an appeal filed by the association of the city’s private schools — the Delhi State Public School Management Association — challenging CIC’s order passed on December 12 last year.

For bus clusters,pact signed with pvt firm
The Delhi government on Tuesday signed an agreement with a private entity for running a fleet of 450 low-floor buses on 69 routes across the city. The Transport department signed a pact with AB Grain Spirits Pvt Ltd,which will start running the buses in the next six months. The pact has been signed under the government’s cluster bus scheme,which was launched last year to replace the Blueline fleet. AB Grain Spirits Pvt will run buses in cluster 3,4 and 5.

Nigerian held for peddling drugs
A Nigerian was arrested from North Delhi on charges of peddling drugs,and 52 grams of heroin — worth around Rs 3 lakh — was reportedly recovered from his possession. The accused,Nwadike Ugo Ben,was nabbed from Gandhi Vihar,Maurice Nagar,on Monday night by a Crime Branch team. The police said he had come to Delhi 17 years ago on a one-year visa and had been staying illegally since then.

Minor killed,three injured in wall collapse
A three-year-old girl died and three other minors were injured when a wall collapsed in Meeth Nagar,Jyoti Nagar. The incident occurred around 12.30 pm,fire brigade officials said,identifying the deceased as Himanshi. “Though they were rushed to a nearby hospital,Himanshi was declared brought dead,” an officer said. The condition of the three injured girls — Moni (3),Khushboo (10) and Priya (7) — is reportedly critical.

Youth found hanging from tree
A 22-year old man was found hanging from a tree in his apartment complex in East Delhi on Tuesday morning. The victim,Baron Jha,who works with a publishing house,had been missing since Monday evening. “Residents of HT Apartments found him hanging from a tree at 8 am,” a police officer said.
