Young couple struggle for life after suicide bid

A couple attempted suicide by consuming poison at Bhajanpura in Northeast Delhi. The two were allegedly upset over the girl’s parents objecting to their love affair. The 22-year-old man and his 16-year-old lover have been admitted to a hospital and their condition is said to be serious. About four months ago,the two eloped,prompting the girl’s family to file a case of kidnapping against the youth. Gulshan was arrested,but later released on bail. DCP (Northeast) Sanjay Jain said a suicide note has been recovered and investigations are on.
