After MPs,it is the turn of the councillors of the MCD to vouch for a salary hike — a step they say would act as “monetary motivation” for them. The 272 MCD councillors have sought a basic fixed salary that they say must range between Rs 10,000 and Rs 30,000 per month, besides an increase in their meeting allowance from the current Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 per meeting.
