US national’s bag snatched
A US national was reportedly robbed of her bag,containing her passport and some US dollars,on Tuesday in the Ashoka Road area. Brenda Hei Becker Heidekku,a US citizen,was attending the wedding ceremony of IAS officer V K Bahuguna’s daughter when three juveniles snatched her bag,the police said. Bahuguna,additional secretary in Nagot Rain-fed Area Authority Planning Commission,called the police and registered an FIR. Officials said they are looking for the accused.

Lawyers on strike
District court lawyers of Delhi and Haryana went on a day-long strike on Thursday,in protest against what they alleged as misbehaviour of a Gurgaon judge with one of their colleagues and “false” registration of an FIR against him. “The lawyers in all six district courts here and the courts in Haryana are not appearing in regular matters. We are demanding action against the judicial magistrate for his alleged misbehaviour,” spokesperson,coordination committee of all bar associations of Delhi,Rajeev Khosla said. He said the lawyers decided to observe strike as a judicial magistrate in Gurgaon allegedly misbehaved with one Delhi lawyer during the court proceeding and later also got registered a criminal case against him on October 15.

NDMC,MCD sealing drive
The city’s civic bodies,NDMC and MCD,on Thursday sealed several properties in the Capital. While NDMC sealed basements in some buildings that were being used for commercial purpose,MCD demolished eight unauthorised constructions built during the Commonwealth Games. Action was initiated in South Delhi areas including East of Kailash,Sant Nagar,Sangam Vihar,Kotla Mubarkpur among others.
