Bindra,Saina,Jung among Games brand ambassadors
The Commonwealth Organising Committee has finally announced six brand ambassadors for the Games. Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra,ace shuttler Saina Nehwal,boxing champion Vijender Singh,shooter Samaresh Jung,who was declared best athlete of the 2006 Commonwealth Games,Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar and four-time world champion boxer M C Mary Kom will be the brand ambassadors for the Delhi Games. Sleeping on duty,constable suspended
A constable deployed at the house of Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal was suspended on Tuesday after he was reportedly found sleeping on duty. “When the Commissioner returned to his house on Monday,he reportedly found constable Ram Avatar sleeping. He was suspended by senior officer in the security wing,” sources said. Dadwal is entitled to the Z category security cover and Avatar was posted at the entrance of Dadwal’s house for the past year. Delhi Police officials,however,refused to comment on the issue.

Security guard found murdered at home
A 27-year-old security guard was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at his rented accommodation in Duggal Colony of South Delhi’s Neb Sarai on Monday night. Surender Paswan,a native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar,was working as a guard in a toy manufacturing factory in Khanpur. The body was discovered by Surender’s brother with multiple stab injuries on the face,chest and stomach,said a police official.
