New Delhi: A Rae Bareli legislative Assembly member,R K Sharma,was caught at the Delhi airport with 22 live rounds of ammunition,before he was to board a SpiceJet flight to Jammu on Saturday. The live ammunition,of .38 calibre,was detected by the DIAL screeners,while checking Sharma’s check-in baggage at Terminal 1D. Sharma was carrying a valid Arms licence,but he had not declared the ammunition at the check-in counter. Sharma was let off by the security agencies,though he missed his 2 pm flight.

GPS in autos: HC relief for 200 drivers

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday stayed a government’s notification demanding Rs 15,000 from auto drivers for installation of global positioning systems (GPS) in their vehicles. Justice Indermeet Kaur,in an interim order,stayed the government’s decision till May 27 — which happens to be the next date of hearing. As many as 200 auto-rickshaw drivers had challenged the notification in court. The court,however,clarified that the order would be applicable only for the drivers who approached it.
