CBSE Class X results: It’s raining perfect 10s
In Delhi, while 8,026 students have scored the 10-point average, 20799 students were able to score a 9 plus CGPA.

Almost all of capital’s schools witnessed scenes of celebration with large number of students securing the perfect 10 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the Class X results announced on Thursday. This year, 94,474 students from across the country have secured 10 point CGPA, up from 76,900 last year. A total of 13,73,853 students had appeared for this CBSE examination across the country this year, of which 6.8 per cent have secured the perfect score.
Like in past years, girls have outperformed boys when it comes to pass percentage, but boys have outperformed girls in scoring high. In Delhi, 95.42 per cent boys cleared their exams, compared to 97.23 cent girls.
In Delhi, while 8,026 students have scored the 10-point average, 20799 students were able to score a 9 plus CGPA. In Springdales, Dhaula Kuan, 50 of the 202 students in Class X have got a 10-point CGPA, while in Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, 39 students have achieved the feat.

“Fifty students have got 10-point CGPA, while another 65 have got between 9 and 9.8,” Ameeta Mulla Wattal, principal of Springdales School in Pusa Road said. At Ahlcon, another 79 students have secured a CGPA between 9 to 9.8, principal Ashok Pandey said.
According to CBSE statistics, 49,392 boys scored a 10-point CGPA, compared to 45,082 girls. Similarly, 18,719 have got a 9.8 CGPA score, compared to 17,777 girls.
As many as 1,07,258 boys have secured a 9 to 9.6 CGPA compared to 86, 489 girls.
Across the country, private schools seem to have fared the best, with 2.86 lakh students from these schools securing CGPA’s between 9 to 10, compared to just 3,484 students in government and government-aided schools across the country.
Thiruvananthapuram region witnessed highest pass percentage of 99.77 in the country. Chandigarh region fared the best with highest number of students, a total of 15,479, scoring a perfect 10.
The pass percentage of School-based evaluation system was better than that of Board-based. A total of 6,69,721 students were registered under Board-based system out of which 6,40,255 candidates qualified the Class X examination this year, with a pass percentage of 95.60.
