CBI nabs two Delhi cops for ‘taking’ Rs 10 lakh bribe
The SHO (Burari police station) was also sent to District Lines Tuesday evening, officers said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday arrested two Delhi Police officers — an inspector and a sub-inspector posted at Burari police station — for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to not implicate a man in a case. The SHO (Burari police station) was also sent to District Lines Tuesday evening, officers said.
A CBI spokesperson said, “A case was registered by the CBI on October 14 against two policemen. It is alleged that Inspector Sandeep Ahlawat and Sub-Inspector Bhupesh Kumar demanded Rs 1.50 crore from the complainant for not implicating him in a fake case.”
“The complainant told the CBI that Ahlawat allegedly agreed to accept Rs 1 crore through the accused sub-inspector. The duo allegedly then decided to accept a partial payment of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant,” the spokesperson added.
According to the spokesperson, the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused SI red-handed while accepting the partial bribe amount from the complainant on behalf of the inspector. Subsequently, Ahlawat, who was posted at the Burari police station, was also apprehended, they said.
