After police told the court that they needed to confront BSP MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti with CCTV footage for the purpose of identifying some persons seen on the footage,the two were remanded in police custody for two days on Saturday.
The couple was arrested on November 5 in connection with the death of their help Rakhi Bhadra.
Dhananjay,the MP from Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh,and his wife Jagriti,a dental surgeon at RML hospital,were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Jasjeet Kaur after expiry of their judicial custody.
Additional Public Prosecutor Mukul Kumar told the court that police custody was required to confront the two with CCTV footage gathered from 20 cameras installed at their No.175,South Avenue,residence. Police told the court that the video recordings was received on November 14 and they needed to ascertain the identity of certain people on the recording.
