BJP’s temple cell members join AAP

“Today, I consider myself extremely fortunate that our platform is graced by the presence of Jagatgurus, Mahamandaleshwars, and many saints and spiritual leaders… What we are saying now, we will do, and we will implement. After the elections we will implement the ‘Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana’ in Delhi. The guidance of all saints and devotees of Sanatan Dharma will be vital,” AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said.

He added that the BJP’s Temple Cell had made several promises to priests but never fulfilled them. “The AAP, however, delivers on what it promises. Even if we take a little time to announce something, once we announce it, we ensure its implementation,” he said.

Among those who joined AAP was Vijay Sharma. “For several years, we struggled for pujaris in Delhi to receive honorariums. We tried for three years within the BJP’s Mandir Prakoshth, but it was Arvind Kejriwal who announced a monthly honorarium of Rs 18,000 for pujaris. When this announcement was made, our pujaris said it was the best initiative.”

The BJP, meanwhile, hit out at Kejriwal, calling him a ‘chunavi hindu’, accusing it of appeasement before elections.

Meanwhile, several AAP district presidents, trade wing members and members of mahila morcha and student wings joined BJP in presence of East Delhi MP Harsh Malhotra on Wednesday.
