A 27-year-old man was assaulted in Gurgaon and his superbike damaged allegedly by four men who were travelling in an SUV that drove recklessly past the biker near Dwarka Expressway, said police.

The video of the incident, which was widely shared on social media and prompted calls for action against the accused, shows the biker profusely apologising to the four men and pleading with them to let him go.

In his complaint filed at the Sector 37 police station of Gurgaon, Hardik, the biker, alleged that he was riding with friends from Cyber City towards Manesar when the Scorpio driver tried to knock him off the two-wheeler.

After pulling over the car, the four men then allegedly attacked him without provocation and damaged his bike, he said. The accused had allegedly first roughed up the accused under a flyover where the bikers had briefly halted in response to their antics, police were told. In the clip of the incident, the accused can be seen grabbing the keys of the bike and hitting the victim. They then take the bike a little ahead and damage it with sticks. The accused have been identified but not yet arrested, a police spokesperson said. A case has been filed.
