Before leaving for court, the Talwars packed their bags

Nupur Talwar submitted before the Ghaziabad court on April 30.

Perhaps, they had already sensed it. For,when Rajesh and Nupur Talwar left for the Ghaziabad court on Monday morning, they packed their bags. According to neighbours, they also asked their domestic helps to pack their belongings.

And,their worst fears came alive when the Ghaziabad court convicted the dentist couple of the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic aide Hemraj.

After Additional Sessions Judge Shyam Lal’s verdict, announced at 3.25 pm,preparations were made to take the Talwars to jail.

The couple took roughly 10 minutes to sign documents and complete formalities, before they were taken away, not for the first time,to Dasna Jail 15 kilometres away.

Jail officials said the Talwars, who entered the prison premises at 4.05 pm,would be kept in separate cells for security reasons.

“They are high security inmates and will be held in singular cells. No special treatment will be meted out to them. When they arrived,a medical test was conducted. After

a mug each. While Nupur Talwar is being kept in the women’s section,Rajesh is being held in the male area,” a jail official said.

This however,is not the first time that both Rajesh and Nupur are spending nights in prison. In the immediate aftermath of the murders,Rajesh Talwar was first arrested on May 23,2008 and then let off two months later on July 11.

Nupur Talwar submitted before the Ghaziabad court on April 30,2012,after charges were framed against both her and Rajesh Talwar.

She was let off on bail on September 25,2012.
