Baba Bageshwar Dham's grand 'Pad Yatra' to be attended by over 50,000 devotees. (File)The Delhi Police have made elaborate traffic and security arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of the grand procession led by spiritual speaker Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Shree Bageshwar Dham Sarkar on Friday, November 7.
The grand ‘Pad Yatra’ to be attended by over 50,000 devotees will start from Adhya Katyayani Mandir, Chhattarpur, at 11 am and proceed to Shree Banke Bihari Mandir in Uttar Pradesh’s Vrindavan. As a large convoy of vehicles is expected to gather on this sacred journey, the traffic police have announced restrictions and diversions in and around the starting point and along the route of the Pada Yatra in Mehrauli, South Delhi, on Friday.
Restrictions on roads
The movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and private vehicles will be regulated or diverted on the following stretches on November 7 to avoid traffic blocks.
1. All types of vehicles will be restricted from Y-point, Chhattarpur, to Dera More on SSN Marg from 11 am to 8 pm.
2. Movement of vehicles will be restricted from CDR Chowk to Y-point, Chhattarpur, and vice versa from 8 am to 4 pm.
3. The restriction on plying of all types of vehicles will remain effective from Dera More to Y-point, Chhattarpur, and vice versa from 8 am to 8 pm. The movement of LMV and private vehicles will be regulated or diverted as per need between the said timings.
4. Movement of all types of vehicles will be restricted from Zeer Khod to Dera More and vice versa from 1 pm to 10 pm on November 7 and from 7 am to 1 pm on November 8. The movement of LMV and private vehicles will be regulated or diverted as per need between the said timings.
5. Parking restrictions will be imposed on all kinds of vehicles from CDR Chowk to Dera Mandi and Zeer Khod on November 7 from 8 am to 10 pm. The vehicles found parked on the above stretch will be towed away and prosecuted as per the law.
Commuters have been advised to avoid the SSN Marg, Chhatarpur Mandir Road, and 100 Foot Road and plan their departure or take alternative routes to avoid delay.
Alternative routes
– Commuters coming from SSN Marg and intend to go towards Faridabad are advised to abstain from SSN Marg but they can proceed straight on MG Road via CDR Chowk and ultimately reach their destination.
– Commuters from SSN Marg and going towards the Gurgaon side via Zeer Khod Road are advised to use Mandi Road on CDR Chowk to reach their destination.
– Motorists coming from Dera Gaon and going towards the Chhattarpur side will be diverted from Bandh Road towards Mandi Road to reach Mehrauli- Gurgaon Road.
Emergency Vehicles
All emergency vehicles, including vehicles of Delhi Police, ambulances, Fire Brigade, and other emergency service vehicles, are allowed to have free access on the roads where restrictions and/or diversions have been put in place when proceeding on emergency duties to save the lives of people. However, emergency vehicles are advised to avoid the above-mentioned stretches on November 7 to prevent any inconvenience.
Special instructions to public
Commuters and motorists are advised to use public transport to avoid congestion on roads and plan their journeys, keeping in mind the heavy rush around Chhattarpur Mandir & SSN Marg.
