After a similar huddle with its senior leadership earlier this week, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday held a meeting of party’s councillors to review the results of the Lok Sabha elections and decide the future course of action.

The first such meeting after the Lok Sabha elections, and with the Assembly polls slated next year, the party said the leadership decided to take steps to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.

AAP National General Secretary (organisation) Sandeep Pathak, Delhi Convener Gopal Rai, AAP MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak, Mayor Shelly Oberoi, Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, and MCD Leader of the House Mukesh Kumar Goel among some MLAs were also present at the meeting.

“There was a discussion about the Lok Sabha elections results. The kind of mandate the people of the country have given… the people have certainly formed Modi ji’s government, but his pride has been completely shattered,” Pathak said.

He added that a report on the ward-level elections was also discussed in the meeting following which it was decided that the party’s organisation “needs more strengthening at the grassroots level.”
