Around Town : Mahi: Man who dug borewell held

The Gurgaon police on Saturday claimed to have arrested Rohtas Tayal,who is accused of causing the death of five-year-old Mahi in Khoh village,Manesar district.

Gurgaon:The Gurgaon police on Saturday claimed to have arrested Rohtas Tayal,who is accused of causing the death of five-year-old Mahi in Khoh village,Manesar district. Tayal allegedly got an illegal borewell dug in the village and Mahi died after she fell into it. Tayal,a resident of Najafgarh,is the owner of the rented accommodation of Mahi’s family. “We have arrested Tayal and he has also admitted to getting the borewell dug. We produced him in a city court,which sent him to a one-day police remand,” said Om Prakash,SHO,Manesar police station.

DU college finds fake marksheet

New Delhi:Moti Lal Nehru College approached police after it found that a student had submitted a fake marksheet with his application for admission to the college,principal Dr B K Jain said. “When we checked the marks against UP Board results online,we found that the roll number and marks were those of another student. We have approached the police with all documents and requested that an FIR be filed,” Dr Jain said.

Bus ride to Faridabad to cost more

New Delhi:Haryana State Transport Authority and Delhi Transport Corporation have hiked the fare for buses going to Faridabad. A ticket to Faridabad will cost Rs 58 in AC buses,a hike of Rs 8 and that in non-AC buses will cost Rs 33.

5 held for gangrape

New Delhi:Five persons have been arrested for allegedly abducting a woman from Dwarka and raping her in a farmhouse in Chhawla,Outer Delhi. The incident was reported on Wednesday night. Medical examination of the victim confirmed rape,police said.
