A Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to Kuldeep Khatri who has been accused of getting a student admitted to Ramjas College of Delhi University on the basis of a forged Class XII marksheet.

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Wednesday granted bail to Kuldeep Khatri who has been accused of getting a student admitted to Ramjas College of Delhi University on the basis of a forged Class XII marksheet. Additional Sessions Judge Bimla Kumari granted Khatri bail on a personal bond and a surety of Rs 25,000 saying the investigation in the case was almost complete. According to the police,Khatri got a student admitted to Ramjas College on the basis of a forged marksheet and had taken Rs 2.20 lakh for it. Khatri was arrested based on the disclosure statement of co-accused Naresh and has been in judicial custody since December 12,2011.

Fake lottery racket busted,three held

Gurgaon: The Gurgaon police busted a fake international lottery racket and nabbed three men,including its kingpin,on Wednesday from Mumbai. The police also seized 57 ATM cards,40 cheque books,18 rubber stamps,47 signed cheques,PAN cards,Rs 1.15 lakh cash and a Chevrolet Beat car from them. The accused have been identified as Imran Qauzi (32),a resident of Ratnagiri,Maharashtra,Moyenjem Rajjak (28),a resident of Malad,Maharashtra,and their driver Deepak Sindhi. Imran Qauzi was the head of the racket in India,police said. “The gang operates all over India and foreign nationals,mostly Nigerians,are also involved in the racket. However,the local gang members knew them only by their nicknames which is why identifying them has been difficult. But we will nab them soon,” said DCP (East) Maheshwar Dayal. The police had launched an investigation following complaints from many in Gurgaon who were duped of lakhs of rupees by the gang.

Lok adalat settles 2,018 power theft cases

New Delhi: A Special Lok Adalat organised by Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in association with discom BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) over the last weekend,took up cases of up to Rs 25 lakh that were either pending or were yet-to-be-filed in any court. The two-day adalat provided BRPL customers/ litigants residing in South and West Delhi an amicable and on-the-spot settlement of their power theft cases,relating to both Direct Theft and Meter Tampering. The Lok Adalat organised on the premises of District Court,Saket,saw over 90 per cent (or 2018) cases,with settled amount of Rs 7.61 crore.
