Discom challenges power tariff fixation
New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) moved the Delhi High Court on Tuesday,challenging power regulator DERCs formula for fixing tariff for power consumption in the city. The court asked the discom,formerly known as North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL),to file a short synopsis in addition to its petition by April 24.
Man held with live cartridges at IGI airport
New Delhi: A 76-year-old West Delhi resident was arrested by police after he was found to be in possession of live cartridges at the IGI airport on Monday. The man identified as Brijbhushan alias Viz,was caught by the security inside T3 after an X-Ray of one of his checked- in bags revealed 33 live cartridges inside it. He was handed over to us along with the recovered cartridges. We have registered a case against him under Section 25 of the Arms Act, said a police officer.
Man held with 6 kg of charas at ISBT
New Delhi: The crime branch had recovered six kg of charas from a resident of Bihar. The police said the recovered contraband was worth Rs 6 lakh in the international market. Acting on a tip-off,police arrested Mohammed Munna (28) from ISBT when he was on his way to deliver the consignment to one of his clients. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against Munna and further investigation is on.
Case against two for beating domestic help
New Delhi: A day after a 20-year-old domestic help fractured her neck bone after being allegedly beaten by her employers,a case was registered against them. The mother-son duo had allegedly assaulted the girl when she refused to follow orders. Police said they have not yet been arrested.
