Repairman killed as AC bursts
New Delhi: A mechanic was killed when the air-conditioner he was repairing burst on Saturday afternoon. The incident was reported from the Clarion Collection Hotel,earlier known as Qutab Hotel. One of his co-workers,Sri Ram,was injured in the blast and is recuperating at AIIMS Trauma Centre. According to police,Jamsheet was reparing the AC when its compressor burst. A case for causing death due to negligence has been registered, said Chhaya Sharma,DCP (South).
Semester system shortens a course
New Delhi: The introduction of the semester system in Delhi University this year shortened a two-year diploma course in Conflict Transformation and Peace Building offered at Lady Shri Ram college to a one-year diploma course. Applications for the course are already out and the classes are scheduled to start from August. The course has 30 seats.
NDMC launches dental care clinic
NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Saturday launched a specialised dental care clinic with five dental specialty departments at Dharm Marg in Chanakyapuri. The facility is being provided for the first time in the NDMC area. The dental clinic will be managed by six senior and four junior residents doctors. The health complex will also have facilities of allopathic,ayurvedic and homeopathic dispensaries,maternity child welfare centre,school health services,central medical store and sanitation unit.
