Five robbers arrested
Gurgaon: With the arrest of five persons,the Gurgaon police claim to have busted a gang of inter-state criminals involved in nearly 22 cases of robbery,theft and snatching. The five were produced before the court on Saturday and sent in police remand for two days,Gurgaon police commissioner S S Deswal said.

NDMC workshops
The NDMC will organise workshops for children from next week. The workshops will be held for one month from May 17 at three centres — NP Bengali Senior Secondary School in Gole Market,Navyug School in Sarojini Nagar and Navyug School at Lodhi Road. They will be held from 8 am to 11 am daily excluding Sundays.

Businessman shot dead
Unidentified assailants shot dead a 51-year-old businessman after he resisted their attempt to snatch his bag in Tilak Nagar on Friday. Police said as soon as Laxmi Narayan got out of his car,three unidentified men came on a motorbike and tried to snatch his bag containing Rs 70,000. “When he resisted,they shot him thrice and escaped with the bag,” police said.

Boy drowns in drain
A 4-year-old boy,who went missing from his house on Wednesday,was found dead in a drain dug by the MCD in East of Kailash,Southeast Delhi. The victim has been identified as Rahul Thapa.

Salem no show at court
A Delhi court on Saturday adjourned proceedings of the extortion case against Abu Salem,after the gangster failed to appear in the court. The next date of hearing is May 29.

3 held for fraud
Three members of a gang of cheats and a person who received the stolen property have been arrested by the South Delhi police. The police said a mobile phone,laptop,ATM cards and an Esteem car have been recovered from the accused,who used to pose as Crime Branch sleuths.
