A minor fire was reported in a moving Blueline bus in Bindapur area of West Delhi. Police said the fire was reported at 10 am on Najafgarh road. The engine of the bus,which plies on route number 817 (Inderlok Metro station to Najafgarh) caught fire. The bus was moving towards Najafgarh when the driver noticed smoke coming out of the engine. No casualty was reported.

Student dies in accident
An 18-year-old Delhi University student was killed when a DTC bus hit the bike she was on. Police officials said victim,Ritu Singh,and her father were on a bike near ESIC hospital when a DTC bus hit them from behind. Both father and daughter fell on the road and were rushed to a nearby hospital,where Ritu was declared dead on arrival. Her father is stable. Police said that the DTC driver had fled. A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver. Police said the girl was pursuing her B. Com from Delhi University through correspondence.

24-year-old found dead
A 24-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Madipur in West Delhi on Saturday night. Police identified the woman as Seema (24). She had married one Ravi Kumar about three years ago. On Saturday evening,she was rushed to Balaji hospital with strangulation marks,where she was declared dead on arrival. While her husband,Ravi,alleged that she committed suicide,her father,Prakash Chand,alleged she was murdered for dowry. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered. around town

Metro services on Jan 26
The services of Delhi Metro will be partially curtailed on January 26 and 29 on Republic Day and Beating Retreat Ceremony due to security reasons. On January 26,there will be no Metro service available at the Central Secretariat,Patel Chowk,Mandi House and Pragati Maidan Metro stations till 12.30 pm. Metro services on Line 2 (Jahangirpuri to Central Secretariat) will be available only from Rajiv Chowk to Jahangirpuri from 6 am to 12.30 pm On Line 3 (Dwarka Sector 9 to Noida City Centre) there will be two short loop services where trains will run in two sections: from Dwarka Sector-9 to Barakhamba Road and back,and from Noida City Centre to Indraprastha Metro station and back.

On Line 4 (Anand Vihar to Yamuna Bank) passengers can avail connecting services towards Dwarka only after 12.30 pm.
