NEW DELHI: After receiving complaints from teachers,the MCD has decided to promote regular teachers on the completion of 10,20 and 30 years of service. Chairman of the Education Committee Mahinder Nagpal said on Tuesday that regular teachers in MCD schools would be able to avail the benefits of assured career progression as per recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission.

Azad releases book on organ donation

NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad released a book on families of organ donors on Tuesday. The book,titled ‘A tribute to life’ and published by the Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation of AIIMS,has been described as an unique effort to promote organ donation. Dr Arti Vij,ORBO chief,said,“We realised that the concept of organ donation can be understood better from the viewpoint of those who have done it in the recent past.” The book will be available free-of-cost at ORBO.

Man arrested for Rs 47-lakh land fraud

GURGAON: The police have arrested Paramjit Arora,a resident of Delhi,for trying to sell somebody else’s plot for Rs 47 lakh. The accused was allegedly trying to impersonate the actual owner,a non-resident of India. Paramjit was nabbed after his friend Vinod,also an accused in the case,spilled the beans on him.
