Burgled mobile outlets catch fire

NEW DELHI: Two mobile showrooms were burgled and allegedly set on fire in Southeast Delhi’s CR Park area early on Monday morning. However,police have ruled out the involvement of a burgle-and-burn gang,stating that the fire must have occurred due to short circuit. The miscreants reportedly disarmed the electronic hooter alarm system before breaking into the shops. Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Virender Singh Chahal said,“Prima facie it looks that it was an accidental fire,but we are investigating the case from other possible aspects also.”

Undertrial escapes from police custody

NEW DELHI: A man escaped from the police van while being taken to Tiz Hazari Court on Monday. Sources said the incident occurred just as the van was arriving at the complex. The undertrial,Rehan Gaonwala,was arrested three months ago on charges of robbery,murder and extortion.

Outsider conducts surgery,doc suspended

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended a doctor working at Bara Hindu Rao Hospital over charges that he had brought a person from outside the hospital to conduct an operation,without taking permission. The doctor removed the kidney of a patient as it was affected by cancer.
