The Delhi Police have given a no-objection certificate to Ramdev’s protest rally to be held outside the Parliament Street Police Station on Sunday. Ramdev has planned a day-long fast.

At their joint show,Ramdev and Anna Hazare are expected to announce a new strategy against the government.

Police said since Jantar Mantar had already been booked for several protests and rallies on Sunday, the organisers were asked to shift their protest to the road outside Parliament Street Police Station.

Police said the organisers of the protest have given an undertaking for the protest, claiming that the number of people would not cross 5,000.

Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said,“Since the road outside Parliament Street is a government place, they do not need permission for the protest. They have been given a no-objection certificate for a peaceful gathering of not more than 5,000 persons.”

Police have also asked protesters to avoid using trucks to reach Parliament Street. This will ensure smooth functioning of traffic, police said.
