Anand Vihar robbery solved,7 arrested

Seven men who allegedly held a family captive at their home and robbed Rs 50 lakh from them in Anand Vihar,East Delhi,were arrested on Saturday,police said.

Seven men who allegedly held a family captive at their home and robbed Rs 50 lakh from them in Anand Vihar,East Delhi,were arrested on Saturday,police said.

The accused also include one of the relatives of the family. Police said he planned the robbery to settle his credit card bill.

The incident was reported last month when the robbers,posing as a courier boys,barged into the house of trader Lajpat Rai Jain. Jain’s wife and his daughter were present in the house and the accused held them captive at gunpoint. They went on to rib Rs 34.60 lakh,400 grams of gold jewellery,and silver coins,police said.

The accused have been identified as Jatin,Gaurav Jain,Kishor Kumar Mishra,Dinesh Kumar,Suraj,Mahender and Vijay Pant.

Police said with their arrest ,five other cases of robbery have also been solved. “The accused said the conspiracy was hatched by the family’s relative — Gaurav Jain,” said Prabhakar,
