Across city, BJP plans celebrations

The Delhi BJP is going all out to celebrate the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi. The party has asked all district presidents to organise proper celebrations, including conducting shankhnaad at temples in their area.

Sources said all district presidents have been asked to put up party flags on the rooftops of the houses of party workers. Leaders have also been asked to put up hoardings and banners on all prominent roads and organise fireworks display and distribution of sweets in their areas.

With fresh Assembly polls likely in the capital, the preparations are being seen as an attempt by the party to reach out to the people of the capital. Riding the Modi wave, the BJP hopes to win a clear majority this time.

At these events, the party also plans to felicitate all booth-level workers whose efforts helped ensure victory in all seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital. All senior party workers in each district will also be felicitated at cultural events scheduled to held on Monday.
