15 number-plate recognising cameras installed on Dwarka, Delhi-Jaipur expressways
Of the 15 ANPR cameras – six have been installed along NH-48 (also referred to as the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway) and nine on Dwarka Expressway.

The Gurgaon traffic police Thursday began monitoring the traffic on National Highway-48 and Dwarka Expressway through newly installed 15 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras with Global Shutter Technology.
The move was announced earlier in the week following a meeting between Dr Rajesh Kumar Mohan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Gurgaon, and officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Of the 15 ANPR cameras – six have been installed along NH-48 (also referred to as the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway) and nine on Dwarka Expressway.
These cameras monitor 14 types of incidents, including speeding, driving without seat belts or helmets, triple riding, wrong-side driving, and lane change violations, among others.
“Violators will face challans under the Motor Vehicles Act, enforced via the camera network. The initiative aims to enhance road safety and ensure seamless travel for commuters,” a traffic police spokesperson said.
The city’s traffic police had last month announced restrictions on the movement of slow-moving vehicles on the two major highways to enhance road safety in high-speed corridors.
Two-wheelers, including motorcycles and scooters, three-wheelers, including e-rickshaws and e-carts, non-motorised vehicles, agricultural tractors, multi-axle hydraulic trailers, and quadricycles are prohibited from using the main lanes from the Sirhaul border to Kherki Daula, and from Kherki Daula to the Delhi border.
Instead, drivers now use the designated service lanes to avoid potential accidents.
To enforce compliance, the Gurgaon traffic police had conducted awareness programs at key junctions along these routes.
