Delhi government increases PUC certificate charges after 13 years
The charges for PUC certificates for petrol, CNG or LPG two- and three-wheelers have been fixed at Rs 80, and Rs 110 for four-wheelers and above. The new rates will be effective as soon as they are notified.

The Delhi government has increased the pollution under control (PUC) certificate charges for petrol, CNG and diesel vehicles, officials said, adding that the new rates will be effective as soon as they are notified. The rates were last revised in 2011.
The new rates for PUC certificates for petrol, CNG or LPG (including bio-fuel) two- and three-wheelers are fixed at Rs 80 and for petrol, CNG or LPG (including bio-fuel) four-wheelers and above at Rs 110. For diesel-propelled vehicles, the new rate has been set at Rs 140. In 2011, the rates had been revised to Rs 60, Rs 80 and Rs 100, respectively.
Officials said that the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association had been requesting an increase in pollution checking fees as they had not been revised since 2011. “A meeting was held with representatives of the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association on June 20 where Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot assured them that their demands would be considered while also taking into account public interest,” an official said.
“This revision is necessary to ensure that pollution checking stations can continue to operate efficiently and provide quality services to the public. We remain committed to maintaining Delhi’s air quality and ensuring that all vehicles meet the required pollution standards,” Gahlot said on Thursday.
The increase in rates aims to balance the operational costs of pollution checking stations with the need to maintain accessible services for vehicle owners, thereby contributing to Delhi’s ongoing efforts to combat pollution and promote environmental sustainability, officials added.
