Tamil Nadu CM Stalin with President Droupadi Murmu (Twitter/@mkstalin) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin met President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Friday and invited her to the celebration of former chief minister M Karunanidhi’s birth centenary and the inauguration of a multi-speciality hospital in Chennai.
According to a state government release, the President has agreed to inaugurate the hospital and to participate in the centenary celebration scheduled to take place at the YMCA Ground in Nandanam, Chennai, on June 5.
During the 97th birth anniversary of the DMK patriarch in 2021, Stalin said a multi-speciality hospital would be set up on the premises of King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research at Guindy, Chennai.

The construction of the 1,000-bedded hospital started at a cost of Rs 230 crore in an area about 51,429 sq m with a ground floor and six upper floors, the release said.
Stalin handed over to Murmu a copy of a biography of the late DMK patriarch, Karunanidhi A life, written by A S Panneerselvan.
Stalin also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at the Delhi airport.
