The audio launch event of actor Vijay’s much anticipated upcoming movie Leo has been cancelled due to safety reasons and overflowing pass requests, the film crew has stated.

The event was scheduled to take place on September 30 (Saturday), at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Thanking the police department for its cooperation and support, the production team also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, as the crew had already sought permission and the police had started making plans to provide the required bandobast for the mega event.

On Tuesday night, the production took to X, to announce that the event would not go ahead as planned earlier.

The Vijay fans, who were disappointed at the development, took to social media and began to trend hashtags in support of actor Vijay and the movie.

Despite the clarification by the crew, many fans claimed that the cancellation was due to the pressure exerted on them by the ruling DMK to cause more difficulties to actor Vijay whom they consider their rival. as he is expected to step into politics and may even contest the 2026 Assembly polls by launching his own party.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film also starring Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Myskkin, Gautam Vasudeve Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, is set to have its worldwide release on October 19.
