It is expected that the resultant rains will help in dissipating the smog that has been hanging over Tamil Nadu for the past five days.

According to private weather blogger Tamil Nadu Weatherman, parts of the state are expected to witness thunderstorms on Friday while Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai (KTC) are expected to receive rainfall once cyclone Bulbul subsides.

The RMC has also cautioned fishermen in the state against venturing into the Bay of Bengal on Friday owing to the movement of Cyclone Bulbul.
