YO YO,the new radio autos were flagged off on Thursday by Secretary of state Transport Authority (STA) Vandana Disodia. Designed on the pattern of the existing radio autos Tuk Tuk,the only addition in the new autos is the panic button attached at the back seat in addition to the mike and speaker. A passenger in need can press the button which will emit a signal to the call centre and a representative will get in touch and address the issue. The passenger can communicate through the mike and speaker attached in the auto. The autos also have GPS through which the company will keep a track of its vehicles.

TriCity AutoClub Pvt Ltd,manufacturers of these new auto-rickshaws,said the drivers have been appointed after police verification and will charge the same fare as the Tuk Tuk. Ten of these have been launched today. Before flagging off the autos,Disodia checked the details and directed the transporters to make it compulsory for the drivers to wear the uniform and follow the rates. According to the rates fixed by the UT Administration, the fares to be charged are Rs 10 for the first kilometre,Rs 8 for every subsequent kilometre, and for waiting,Rs 30 for each hour.

These new pink colour autos are bound to attract passengers as the same have already gained popularity among city residents. All that one requires to do is call the centre to book the Yo Yo.
