Police have registered a case of kidnapping after a would-be groom went missing from his home at Chandimandir area in the city.

Police have registered a case of kidnapping after a would-be groom went missing from his home at Chandimandir area in the city.

The police registered a case after 26-year-old Devinder Dutt did not return home after he had gone out on Thursday. Devinder,who worked at the K C Crossroads Hotel in Sector 10 in the city,went for work in the morning but did not return home at Beed Ghagar.

On inquiry,his family members were told at the hotel that he had in fact left the job three days back. He was to get married on Saturday. Police officials said that they have registered a case of kidnapping under Section 365 of IPC at Chandimandir police station.

“Investigations in the case is on and we have registered a case of kidnapping,’’ said a police official investigating the case.

Police officials said that the boy had consented to the marriage and the family told them that there was no pressure on him to marry with the girl of their choice.
