A woman traffic police constable has accused the driver of the station house officer (SHO),Sector 17 of assaulting her near the ISBT Sector 17 on Sunday morning.

A woman traffic police constable has accused the driver of the station house officer (SHO),Sector 17 of assaulting her near the ISBT Sector 17 on Sunday morning.

According to the police,the complainant,Niharika Singh,23,alleged that Ramesh,45,who is the driver of Ram Gopal,SHO of the Sector 17 police station twisted her arm and slapped her on Sunday morning. Niharika made a PCR call an hour later and reported the matter to the police.

Sources in the police said that Niharika was reportedly having an affair with Rakesh Kumar,a constable who is posted as an Inspector’s security officer. Kumar allegedly had tried to kill his wife by drowning her in the Ganga river in Haridwar on September 14. The matter came to light after his wife escaped and informed the police following which an inquiry was initiated against Kumar. Sources added that Ramesh was the cousin of Rakesh’s wife.
