Will revoke suspension orders of teachers,says

Members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Government Teachers Union(GTU) met education secretary V.K. Singh on Tuesday to take feedback from the teachers and discuss their demands.

Members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Government Teachers Union(GTU) met education secretary V.K. Singh on Tuesday to take feedback from the teachers and discuss their demands.

The teachers gave their written feedback to modify the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) saying the discussion method be accepted over delivering lectures.

The teachers also put forward their demands to withdraw showcause notices issued to over 100 lecturers and the revocation of suspension orders of four government teachers.

V.K Singh said,“Since the programme is working successfully,we don’t have a problem with the teachers. We are ready to revoke the suspension orders with an immediate effect.”

During the meeting,Singh assured the structure of the FDP would change.

Meanwhile,Swarn Singh Kamboj,co-convener of the JAC said,“The secretary has decided to roll back the suspension orders and also cancel the FIR lodged against us. Also,the showcause notices issued to the teachers will be taken back.

The secretary has accepted all our demands including,modification of the FDP.”

The Joint Action Committee has appealed to the teaching community to assemble in the Masjid ground in Sector 20 today to decide the further course of action.
