Western Air Command AOC-in-C in city on 2-day visit

Air Marshal N A K Browne,Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief,Western Air Command,arrived in the city on Wednesday for a two-day inspection visit to Air Force 12 Wing,Chandigarh.

Air Marshal N A K Browne,Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief,Western Air Command,arrived in the city on Wednesday for a two-day inspection visit to Air Force 12 Wing,Chandigarh. On his arrival,the AOC-in-C and his wife Kiran Browne,who is the president of the regional Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA),were received by various dignitaries including Air Commodore S R K Nair,Air Officer Commanding,Air Force Station,Chandigarh and Geetanjali Nair,president of the local AFWWA.

Later,Air Marshal Browne interacted with the personnel and senior officials of the wing. He also reviewed the operational and training preparedness of the various units based at the air force station.

In his address,Browne recalled his days in Chandigarh and noted that there has been a significant development towards modernisation of the Air Force since then.

He exhorted the officers to be prepared for any kind of role that they may be called upon to perform in future. The Air Marshal also conveyed his satisfaction over the functioning of the station.

Later in the day,Browne met UT Administrator General (Retd) S F Rodrigues at his residence.

Browne also visited the Air Force School,family welfare centre and other AFWWA welfare ventures being run by the station.
