Vivek School students leave for China

Vivek High School,Sector 38,is the only school from Chandigarh that will participate in the We Model United Nations Conference-2010 to be held in China.

To participate in We Model United Nations Conference-2010 which begins in Beijing today

Vivek High School,Sector 38,is the only school from Chandigarh that will participate in the We Model United Nations Conference-2010 (WEMUNC) to be held in China. A team of eight students from Class X,XI and XII have been selected from the school on the basis of an essay writing test followed by interview and voice presentation and modulation.

The students left for Delhi on Tuesday evening to attend the conference from August 3 to 10. Around 2000 schools will be participating from all over the world in the conference of which 9 schools are from India.

“As a delegate,we will assume the role of a diplomat,representing our country. Similarly,we have been assigned committees like the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund,Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries etc. Each committee has a chair,vice-chair and chief of staff that will manage and organize the committee during the course of the conference,” said Raunak Khosla.

While,Ranbeer Grewal said that the excitement to be part of such an event is hard to be shared in words. Also,the students were very proud and enthusiastic on being the only school from the city.
