In an exciting encounter,Vaibhav Anand got the better of Ravneet Bhatwa 67-16,43-66,64-11 to storm into the snooker quarter-finals in the ongoing VIII Saurabh Khattar Memorial Billiards and Snooker Championship held at Chandigarh Club in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Vaibhav got off to a blazing start winning the first frame 67-16. In the second frame,Ravneet staged a tremendous fight back and grabbed it by 66-43. Vaibhav got back into form and eventually clinched the decisive third frame to win the match.
In other matches,Ajay Singla outplayed Karanbir Nalwa 73-42,69-26 with utmost ease. Meanwhile,Pardeep Kinger outclassed Manjul Sood 73-14,50-37.
In the billiards second round matches,Mahesh Chaudhary overpowered Anand Chibber 151-136 in a closely contested match,while Ajay Singla defeated Ajay Jain 152-76 in a one-sided affair to move ahead.
