UT links Dhanas flat allotment to Aadhar

This was highlighted at a meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of the Advisor to the Administrator,UT,that was called to review the allotment of 8,448 small flats constructed at Dhanas under the slum rehabilitation scheme of JNNURM.

The Chandigarh Administration has linked its allotment of around 8,100 small flats,under the JNNURM scheme,to Aadhar numbers even as it sets about constructing a township for about 40,000 people at Dhanas. This was highlighted at a meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of the Advisor to the Administrator,UT,that was called to review the allotment of 8,448 small flats constructed at Dhanas under the slum rehabilitation scheme of JNNURM.

Finance Secretary,Chairman,CHB,Special Secretary Finance,Special Secretary Health,Chief Engineer,PWD,Chief Architect,Commissioner,Chandigarh Municipal Corporation,Deputy Commissioner,Chief Engineer,Municipal Corporation,Director Public Instructions,representative of Social Welfare Department and other officers participated in the meeting.

It was observed that a huge task of allotting about 8100 small flats linked with Aadhar numbers is being undertaken by the Chandigarh Administration and a township of about 40,000 persons is going to come up at Dhanas. This exercise would be one of its own kind in the whole country. Hence it was decided that all the departments should ensure that the external,internal and social infrastructural services are in place before the beneficiaries move into their allotted flats by May 2013.

The Chandigarh Housing Board submitted that all the works which have been entrusted to them have been completed and verification of about 8100 beneficiaries have also been completed. The UT engineering department also submitted that the external infrastructural works being executed by them are all progressing as per the time schedule and that they will be completed by the time. Flats will be allotted during April/May 2013.

It was informed that already 3 Government Senior Secondary Schools within a radius of about 2 kms,a dispensary,alternative medical Unit,4 anganwadi centres,community centre and market place are available in old Dhanas Colony and Dhanas village.
