UT Adviser Vijay Dev cuts short foreign visit
Sources in the administration said that the Adviser was to attend an important meeting on Friday.

UT Adviser Vijay Dev has cut short his visit to Copenhagen in Denmark and will be back in the city Thursday. As per schedule, he was to return along with four officers on November 2.
Sources in the administration said that the Adviser was to attend an important meeting on Friday. However, he had to return owing to the raids conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on October 26 at the Chandigarh Housing Board office in Sector 9, said sources. During the raid, CBI officials had seized records pertaining to a self-financing housing scheme in Sector 63, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CBI had conducted the raids on a complaint forwarded by the Prime Minister’s office with regard to delay in completion of the project and extending favour to a contractor. Prima facie, CBI has found irregularities and various CHB officials are under scanner. Out of a total of 2,018 two- and three-bedroom flats under the project, over 900 are yet to be completed.
In Denmark, the Adviser was leading a five-member team including Municipal Commissioner Bhawna Garg, environment secretary Vikram Dev Dutt, SDM (Central) Prince Dhawan and forest officer Santosh Kumar. As per information, the four other officers will continue their field study in Copenhagen on the transport system, waste treatment plants and environment issues, and will return to the city as per schedule.
