UT Administration tries to retain Doon

The Chandigarh Administration is making an all out effort to retain the present Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Hardeep Singh Doon in Chandigarh Police.

The Chandigarh Administration is making an all out effort to retain the present Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Hardeep Singh Doon in Chandigarh Police. The case for getting him an year’s extension in Chandigarh police is under consideration.

Meanwhile,the Haryana government has already sent the panel of three IPS officer,out of which one shall be posted as 1998 batch Haryana cadre IPS officer H S Doon’s successor in Chandigarh Police.

The three IPS officers,all 1998 batch Haryana cadre,include Sibhash Kabiraj,presently posted as Superintendent of Police (Commando,Newal,Karnal district); Saurabh Singh,presently posted as Deputy Director,PTC,Sunaria,Rohtak and Rajender Kumar,Superintendent of Police,Crime,posted at Madhuban.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had already issued guidelines to Chandigarh Administration,not to recommend or send any cases pertaining to extension of IAS/ IPS officers,on deputation to Chandigarh. But sources disclosed that Doon is being considered for an extension of an year as SSP (Traffic) in Chandigarh.

Hardeep Singh Doon,joined Chandigarh Police on the post of SP (Traffic) on July 30,2008 and got promoted to the rank of SSP in February this year. His tenure ends on July 30 this month.

The senior officials of Chandigarh Police and Administration are tight-lipped on the entire issue.
