U-22 cricket: Tough task for Patiala

In reply to Chandigarh's mammoth total of 504,propelled by Jeevenjot (75) and Himanshu Chawla (62 no),Patiala made 252 for the loss of five wickets in 92 overs on the third day of the U-22 inter-district cricket tournament semi-final match being played at Dhruv Pandove stadium in Patiala.

In reply to Chandigarh’s mammoth total of 504,propelled by Jeevenjot (75) and Himanshu Chawla (62 no),Patiala made 252 for the loss of five wickets in 92 overs on the third day of the U-22 inter-district cricket tournament semi-final match being played at Dhruv Pandove stadium in Patiala. With just one day left in the match,Patiala need to score another 252 runs having five wickets in hand to take first innings lead. The Patiala innings revolved around Jeevan Jot and Kunwar Raina. They were involved in an opening stand of 108 runs. The partnership was broken by Anshul Tripathi when he had Kunwar Raina caught on 49. For Patiala a lot will depend on Himanshu Chawla who is batting on 62.

Ludhiana on verge of win
Despite breezy tons from Jalandhar batsmen,Nitish Sahota (111) and Love Kumar (115 no),Jalandhar were bundled out for 421 in answer to Ludhiana’s first innings total of 451,thus falling 30 runs short on the third day of the second semi-final match being played at the Burlton Park in Jalandhar. Taking first innings lead,Ludhiana is assured of the spot in the final.

For Jalandhar,the other contributors with the bat were Taruwar Kohli (43) and Abhishek Gupta (44). The last wicket partnership of 63 runs betwee Maninder and Love Kumar failed to save the day for Jalandhar. Love Kumar remained unbeaten on 115. Batting in the second innings,Ludhiana were 7 for no loss in 3 overs.
