Two arrested in death of 22-year-old due to ‘drug overdose’
During the investigation, it was revealed that Rinku was the person seen in CCTV footage wearing a cap while removing Lakshya’s body from the car and dumping it.

The Panchkula police has arrested two persons in connection with the suspicious death of a 22-year-old whose body was found in Parade Mohalla, Kalka, on Sunday.
The accused have been identified as Rinku, resident of Balaji Nagar, Kalka, and Suraj, a resident of Kuradi Mohalla, Kalka. A case has been registered against them under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the police, the victim, Lakshya, was living in Kalka in a rented accommodation for the past two years while working in Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh. He was previously residing with his paternal aunt in Shimla after the demise of his parents. For the past seven months, he was in a live-in relationship with a woman, with whom his family had arranged an engagement.
Upon receiving information about Lakshay’s body near Gandhi Chowk, Kalka, a police team immediately reached the scene and conducted an investigation. CCTV footage was reviewed, forensic samples were collected, and an inquiry was initiated to determine the cause of death.
Following the probe, two suspects — Rinku and Suraj — were arrested near Kalka Mill Barrier. Police have learnt that both Rinku and Suraj had procured drugs and made Lakshya consume them. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report is received.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Rinku was the person seen in CCTV footage wearing a cap while removing Lakshya’s body from the car and dumping it.
Both accused were produced in court and have been remanded in four days of police custody. During this period, the police will probe the source of the drugs and the exact sequence of events leading to Lakshya’s death.
