Two youths died and three were injured when their car was hit by a speeding truck near Gargi petrol pump,Saha on NH 73 Ambala-Dehradun late Friday night. The five youths,residents of Ambala and Nariangarh,were coming from Barara. They were taken to MM Medical College and Hospital,Mullana,where two of them died during treatment. A case has been registered against the driver of unknown truck. Man held red-handed while stealing car A resident of Zirakpur was arrested on Saturday after being caught red-handed for allegedly stealing a car. According to the police,at around 6 am,a resident of Kajheri was standing in the balcony of his house when he noticed an unknown person sitting in his car that parked in front of the house. When the resident Raj Kumar Teji went downstairs,the unknown person started flee in the victim's car. Teji raised an alarm and the accused was nabbed by the police who was present near the site of crime. The accused identified as Harwinder Singh,28,is a resident of Zirakpur. A case of theft and of dishonestly receiving stolen property under the IPC has been registered at Sector 36 police station. Theft case reported from Mohali A resident of Dhakoli,Mohali alleged that an unknown person stole 2 kg silver,three mobile phones and a computer hard disk from his suitcase while he was coming from Ambala to his residence. According to the police,after reaching Chandigarh,the victim took a three-wheeler from Tribune Chowk for his residence. On reaching home,the victim realized that his valuables were not present in his suitcase. A case of theft has been registered at Sector 31 police station. National Conference held at GJIMT Gyan Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJ-IMT),Mohali,organised its 10th National Conference on 'Role of Social Networking in the present Era' in which 35 Delegates of different colleges from Delhi,MP,Karnataka,Jammu and Kashmir,Himachal Pradesh,participated. Folk Dance competition held During the second and the third day of 'Strides Fest Folk Dance Competition' for Junior and Senior,held at Manav Mangal School,Panchkula and Mohali respectively,St. Joseph School,Ambala won the first prize in the junior category,while the Government Model School Sector 10,won the first prize in the senior category.
