Trade unions to launch joint protest on March 5

All trade unions,irrespective of affiliations,will come together and launch a “Jail Bharo Andolan” from March 5 to protest price rise,unemployment,non-implementation of labour laws,privatisation and disinvestment,said M K Pandhe,national president of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and politburo member of CPM,here on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media,he said besides the CITU,the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC),which is affiliated to the Congress,and the Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh affiliated to the BJP,will participate in the agitation to be held across the country.

He said leaders of other unions will also attend the all-India convention of the CITU in Chandigarh,scheduled to be held from March 17 to 21.
