It was tough luck for second seed Barun Gill of CLTA as he lost the boys' Under-16 quarterfinal match with a margin of 6-7 (4-7) to Anvit Gupta on the fourth day of the YMCA Total Tennis Academy being played at YMCA Courts,Sector 11.

It was tough luck for second seed Barun Gill of CLTA as he lost the boys’ Under-16 quarterfinal match with a margin of 6-7 (4-7) to Anvit Gupta on the fourth day of the YMCA Total Tennis Academy being played at YMCA Courts,Sector 11. The match lasted for one hour and twenty minutes and both the players gave their best performance. Anvit Gupta was down by 4-1 in the tie breaker but he regained momentum and claimed six points in a row to wrap up the match in his favour by 7-6(7-4). Anvit will play Prabhsimran Bal in the semi-final on Friday. Prabhsimran beat Parminder Singh in the tie breaker by 7-6(7-5). Top seed Aviraj Kamboj beat Ratik Setia in a one sided affair by 7-0. Now he will face Taranbir Singh in the semi-finals. Taranbir Singh defeated Ravisher Singh Sandhu with ease by 7-3.

In the boys’ Under 12 category,Aditya Kansal got walk over from his top seed opponent Sumit Pal Singh. Now he will face Sachit Malhotra of Total Tennis Academy in the semi-finals on Friday. Sachit beat third seed Paras Mittal by 7-4 in 35 minutes. Sahil Yadav will face second seed Santbir Singh in the semi-finals. Santbir blanked his opponent Ayush Verma by 7-0.

In the boys’ Under 10 final,second seed Rishabh Sharda will face third seed Sagar Bains. Rishabh Sharda defeated fourth seed Anmol Rattan with ease by 4-2,4-1. Sagar Bains got the walk over from the top seed Sumit Pal Singh.

In the girls’ Under 12 category,top seed Sabrina Gill defeated unseeded Ridhima Gupta by 6-0. She will face Rubani Singh in the semi-finals. Rubani defeated third seed Prinkle Singh 6-5(8-6). Neamat Aulakh beat Tanya Sood by 6-1. She will now face Saumya Saxena in the semi-finals. Saumya beat Karishma Mehta by 6-4.
